From the height of their rocky promontories, the Tremitesi have a lot of stories to tell. Their voices narrate stories that float between glorious pasts and uncertain futures, between a naked and a sublimated reality. When they overlook the sea, it looks like if they were seeing things that some stranger’s eyes could not discern. Ghosts of what has been and what has to come. May- be these are the same ghosts that move through the ruins of San Nicola and that make the seagulls cry.
From the Tremiti Islands emerges the grandiosity of banal rituals and the courage behind human rhythms. At every fish cap- tured and every body buried, the Tremitesi prove through these micro-odisseys that not only ghosts inhabit their hostile land.
